About this gravel calculator

What it is for

Gravel Calculator Online is a free, independent tool for homeowners, DIY landscapers and small contractors who need to order gravel, stone or aggregate. It turns measurements into a shopping list: cubic yards, tons, bags and the cost of buying in bulk or in bags.

It is not run by a gravel supplier or retailer and does not recommend any brand or store. There are no ads.

How the numbers are calculated

Each area is measured as one of six shapes or a known surface area, then multiplied by its depth. Volumes are added up and your compaction and waste percentages are added on top. Weight uses only the density you enter, so the ton figure matches your supplier's.

Limits of the estimate

Results are planning estimates. Real quantities depend on the material, moisture, compaction and how even the ground is. Confirm the density, order unit and delivery terms with your supplier, and do not use this tool for structural, drainage-design or load-bearing decisions.
